I am a Senior Lecturer in education research at the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences (FMNHS), as well as an Academic Development Specialist at the Monash Education Academy (MEA). I am also a Senior Fellow (SFHEA) of the Advance Higher Education. At MEA, I design and deliver programs for the professional development of staff across Monash faculties for high-quality teaching. In my role as the Research Coordinator of the Monash Centre for Scholarship in Health Education (MCSHE), my primary focus is to enhance skills, capacity, and confidence within FMNHS to conduct innovative and high-quality research in health education. I engage in interdisciplinary research, develop and deliver courses related to research methodology and educational practices, and organise research seminars and workshops.
After completing my PhD in STEM Education in 2012, I shifted my research focus to health professions education in 2018. Prior to that, I pursued post-doctoral research at the Faculty of Science in Monash and the School of Education at Deakin University. With over 15 years of experience, I have researched various educational issues ranging from early years to undergraduate levels. Some of my research areas include scientific and environmental literacy, graduate employability, development of generic skills, and curriculum evaluation. Currently, I am interested in developing employability skills for healthcare students and enhancing professional learning for university educators. I am skilled in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research design. My research has been published in top-ranked education journals such as Medical Education, Academic Medicine, and Higher Education Research & Development, as well as reputable publishing outlets like Springer and Routledge.
